Thank you for your very informative ergonomic presentation. Our team is very diverse, with very differing roles (which includes nurses, administration staff, kitchen staff, housekeeping staff). You gave a well-rounded presentation which the group could associate with. I have heard that your advice has been listened to and some have changed or looked at their ergonomic practices.

Janie C. Burns, Nursing Co-ordinator, Canuck Place Children’s Hospice

Thank you Carmel for all your efforts in supporting the work of the BC Collaborative for Disability Prevention.  Your contributions to our task group as we developed the Stay At Work/Return to Work process model was invaluable. Your facilitation skills and knowledge about disability management & ergonomics helped move us forward, stay focused and ensured we were able to complete a Disability Prevention Process model that we hope will become a best practice standard for all British Columbia workplaces.  We have a lot of work to do in the BC Collaborative and hope that we will be able to count on your continuing support.

I have known Carmel Murphy for the past 10 plus years, through my association with the Healthcare Benefit Trust.  Initially Carmel provided ergonomic assistance and focus group facilitation to assist us with health and safety issues at Menno Hospital in Abbotsford, B. C. We were well satisfied with her contributions.  Latterly I have worked with Carmel in the establishment of the HBT Affiliate Client Advisory Council.  She provided me with invaluable guidance in my role as the first Chair of this group.  I recommend Carmel as an ergonomist and as a facilitator.

Robbie Moore, Director of People Services, Menno Home and Hospital, Abbotsford, May 2010

The Adler graduate program in Organizational Psychology was pleased to have Carmel Murphy speak to our students on the complexities of job analysis. Carmel was able to provide an excellent insight into the physical and mental aspects of job analysis which are not covered in conventional texts on this topic. Her depth of experience in conducting job demands analyses and consulting on ergonomics in the workplace gave real substance to her discussion of how to prevent and accommodate disabilities on the job. This expertise is valuable to employers and employees alike as they seek to make the workplace accessible and enjoyable for all.

Carmel, thank you so much for your thorough assessment. You went above and beyond to ensure that I was given the knowledge I need to both heal my injury and be productive at work! I really appreciated your follow up phone calls, emails and your second site visit.

The most important thing I took away from the services provided by FORME Ergonomics & Workplace Health was….

“I took away a sense of satisfaction that each aspect of the project had been looked into thoroughly and from every angle required. I took away tools that I needed, and good documentation”

“ To me your comprehensive service was key, there was little that was not important for me, everything that you did added value.”

“Continue the way you are, and you will keep up your standard and keep getting better because you are constantly listening to your customers and taking into consideration what they say to you.”

June Murray, Director of Care, Waterford Care Centre, Tsawwassen, BC, September 2010

“I enjoyed the training session…makes you think how you can reduce injury…good to have input from everyone and sharing of ideas.” (Participants, Training workshop workplace health procedures, Sept 2010, Waterford Care Centre)

I had the privilege of working with Carmel when she managed a multi-organizational project with our organization in 2004. The project involved liaising with multiple stakeholders, distribution of a specialized survey to over 2000 employees within our sector an 450 BACI employees and development of a health risk profile for individual and combined organizations. Carmel was an excellent manager, providing extensive advice to meet our needs to the highest standard.  Carmel’s work exceeded all our expectations and we were so confident in the standard of work delivered that we continued to work with Carmel over the next three years to continue the survey allowing us to develop strategic health goals for our organization. I would recommend Carmel to any organisation, as she is an excellent communicator, listens, responds to client needs and believes in developing collaborative relationships with her clients.

Carmel worked with us for several years, presented workshops, facilitated strategic planning,  and advised us on ergonomics and workplace health. Each issue was examined in detail, the solutions seemed logical and within our means to achieve positive results.  She never failed to provide the best quality.
